This simple dinner recipe is oh-so satisfying and you can make it in minutes. They’re perfect for Game Day or anytime you need a quick, family-friendly dinner. Pure comfort food!
Ingredients
10 Brats cut open lengthwise
2-3 Bell Peppers chopped
1 Large Red Onion chopped
1 Tbsp Olive or Avocado Oil
2 Cups Shredded Cheese PepperJack or 10-12 slices of Provolone
1/2 Tbsp Garlic Powder
Salt & Pepper to taste
Directions
Preheat oven to 375º
Add oil to pan and fry brats until browned well on both sides but not cooked all the way through. You may have to do this in 2-3 batches depending on how large your pan is. When done place on a lined baking sheet pan.
Drain excess oil, leaving enough to sauté the peppers and onions in same pan. Cook peppers and onions until they are softened slightly. Adding garlic powder, salt & pepper. When done, top the brats with the peppers and onion.
Cover the brats, peppers and onions with cheese. I don’t actually measure my cheese, I just top it until I feel it’s got enough to make the sausages covered well with gooey cheesy goodness! Place in the oven on middle rack and cook for 15 mins (until brats are fully cooked).
When done turn on Broiler for 5 mins to brown the top.
ENJOY!
